With so many serendipitous moments—highschool art class with Mr. Wallwork, taking digital design at the Vancouver Film School, dumpster diving at the Sechelt dump. And now I'm lucky I get paid to be creative and learn new skills. Plus I get to hang out with some pretty kewl peeps!

I have a Fine Arts Degree (yup—majored in painting) with a New Media Certificate from the Vancouver Film School. I also received my Community Capacity Building Citation from Capilano University last year.

I'm rockin' and rollin' these days and hoping to up my skills. I work at Capilano University as a Digital Communications Specialist. At CapU, I'm also able to share my upcycling experience and community building mojo. What a perfect fit!

My side gig, Thrifty By Design, is still going strong. Since 2012, I've hosted more than 80 Crafternoons (upcycling workshops) throughout Vancouver meaning I've crafted with 1,000+ participants, authored a crafty book ('Raw Crafts'), been interviewed by various local media, spoken at events and met tons of FAB people.

Here's to upping my game—developing some new digital communications skills, hosting more Crafternoons and partnering up with more kick butt people and community organizations. Maybe you and I can make some digital, crafty magic happen together!

Stay sparkly & share your awesomeness!
